Huntsville is paving the way for a $325 million project with a New York developer that would bring a mixed-use concept downtown.
The Huntsville City Council approved the development that is slated to offer apartments, a 100-room hotel and retail outlets at a vacant downtown spot near the Von Braun Center, according to AL.com.
The city agreed Thursday night to Rocket Development Partners LLC’s proposal to develop the former site of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company on Clinton Avenue.
The project, which is a part of the mayor’s master plan, also proposes 40,000 square feet of Class A office space, restaurant space and at least 26,000 square feet of retail space as well as an 800-space parking garage.
